Week in Review

All my BNSF sistas know how work can be sooo crazy and then other weeks totally make up for it. Well, this was a laid back week work wise. We got to do a lot of family things together.
It was really nice.

Monday we went to Disneyland.
Thanks to Rowdy's good looks we didn't have to wait in those crazy character lines.
Minnie also got her flirt on with Rowdy.
We were to mesmerized by the situation to grab the camera
Coby Bryant was totally there with his daughter! Sooo cute.
As in she is so cute, and it was cute to see him hold her hand because he is so tall
We also: tried to do organize Rowdy's room and just uncovered more chaos, babysat, caught up on the Office just in time to watch the new one, taught Rowdy ring around the Rosies (sooo cute), built a giant blanket fort for activity days, played Nerf tag in the cultural hall for Mutual, rode metrolink just for a rush, went golfing with Pops, ran 8 miles, quilted for humanitarian aid, cleaned up files on the computer,Wii fit, talked Rowdy into letting us read him some different books besides the 3 favs, Costco, barbecued pizza, Home taught, Drove out to Two Bunch Palms to suprise Dad, went to the temple, played with Aunt Letti, cousins and Yaya, watched Kaidee and Garret's soccer games, hung out with Nan and her 4 adopted grandkids, and.... just had a really nice week being together.

Growler

Rowdy growls now. He actually does have a pretty large variety of funny sounds he makes. But the growling could be connected to a few few of his favorite books. He get the biggest smile on his face when we pull out The Monster Eats Books, How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? and The Big Green Monster. We really do have more books than that, but he always goes after these three. Hmmm. ..which one for halloween?

Saturday

Saturday, was Marie Wilson's funeral. It was a sad day, but one of celebration and remembranceMarie was one of Nan's best friends. She gave the Eulogy, and I think was perfect. It was truly a celebration of Marie's life. Everyone cried, but everyone left feeling edified and uplifted. It was the best funeral I have ever been to. Heavenly Father's plan was so clear and so close. Marie was also a huge part of Cody and I meeting at the Northpark Ward. We love her and Jay so much. We are so thankful to have known her and for the knowledge that we will see her again.

We love you Marie.

We broke down

We randomly decided to buy Disney passes this WednesdayRowdy enjoyed all the simple things there, like the bushes and flowers,
not so much Pinoccio or Mr. Toad's wild ride
We have a whole year to get closer right?
Actually Rowdy's favorite thing, was this huge granite ball that had water making it roll in place. Absolutely nothing to do with Disney
Anyway we are all excited, too bad we thought of it right as all of our relatives with passes moved away.

Fishin' for the Ladies

Last Saturday our friends, Jason, Aubri and Brianna took off for the Phillipines. Brianna was Rowdy's age so Rowdy would always try to impress her with his shoes and stuff. You know, kind of like Cody.Anyway Brianna had a little goodbye party and they invited this amazing balloon lady. She was whippin' up all kinds of cool stuff. My personal favorite was the Little Mermaid. Anyway didn't really know what to have her make Rowdy. Then she suggested a fish, and I though sure that has been sort of a theme in our family lately. So in 2 seconds she whips out this so cute little fish on a pole, complete with swallowed worm.
And in 1 second Rowdy realizes this will be Brianna's last impression of him

"you have to be joking Mom"

Later Labor

Labor Day, after our chores, we went and hung out with some friends from church. There are a lot of young couples in the ward and they are all so much fun.Rowdy had fun too.
Even though his Dad made him wear Ariel swim shorts
Oh, and Cody just got called to be in the Young Mens presidency along with two other really fun guys. He is sooo excited. I think he'll do great with the youth. Now we are just praying his schedule will work with it.

Put the kids to work

It was Labor Day,
So we put the kids to work

Rowdy and Cody, our next door neighbor had so much fun playing in our gutter!
Its a California Creek!
It was such a nice morning, we cleaned up our abode and neighbors kept coming out and chatting
Monica came over and hung out
And Sou Young and Stephanie came out to play too. We love these kids so much! Sou Young, poor guy, speaks Kor-english. No one can really understand him (he is pretty funny). And Stephanie, his sister is my 11 year old best friend.

All dressed up

I just love Rowdy's little blazer, but I don't know if he feels the same way. This was the Sunday we went to the Northpark ward, where Cody and I met, because they were rearranging the bishopric.
My dad got called to be bishop. He is really nervous, but I think grateful he was able to learn so much from Jay, and grateful he is still able to be a part of the YSA ward.

Giddy

I was a little giddy the other night.
Monica and I went to do some Prop 8 stuff (as in YES on Prop 8) a couple of weeks ago and afterward we decided to treat ourselves to a little Tsunami's (Their crunch roll is one of my very favorite things). So we were sitting at the sushi bar and we are like, hey that guy looks so familiar. Now please understand I am an extremely enthusiastic Angels fan, but I have loved me some Dodgers in my childhood. so what to my wondering eyes should appear? but... Tommy Lasorda! Haa haa.
You gotta love the guy. Well I was totally debating about going to say hi, or getting a pic, but then I think people overheard our slimfast jokes and then we were over it.
Anyway all we have to prove it was this Dodger truck in the parking lot :) We are pretty sure he was in town doing a promo for a local Toyota dealership.
Anyway after that little incident I had to go splash my face with some cold water, and a few days later watch a little Angel action. This really cool girl from our ward, Adrianna invited me to go with some other girl friends. All our pictures were too random, but we had a good time.
Yay Angels

Mancamp

Isn't this place a crackup? Don't worry Cody is too homophobic to have stayed here. This is basically a filler because Cody keeps procrastinating his blogging responsibilities. As in, documenting his Alaskan adventure So my Dad has fallen in love with Alaska and the taste of fresh Salmon, as have all of us who have have been graced with the invite to accompany him. Once a year he invites one or two family members to accompany him on his annual pilgrimage to fish. It is his way of contributing to food storage. and if you have seen my parents freezer you know what I mean.
So, this was Cody's lucky year. And we do mean Lucky. We have reminisced about how blessed we were this summer, not only to have been able to go to Wyoming, but also that Cody was released from duty there in the nick of time to make it back for Rowdy's birthday and in time for the the pre-purchased Alaskan trip. The timing was definitely an answer to prayers.
And the fish tastes divine!
Do you like Cody's shirt?
This is Cody and my cousin Shem lovin' on the glaciers
Anyway, in summary, Dad rocks, so does Alaska, we love salmon and those are the bear facts
