San Antone

Cody had his vacation this week. So we went down to Round Rock and got to see Bobby and Tiffany's family, which now includes cousin Casey. They were so hospitable and we had a super nice time hanging out with them. Yesterday we left from their house and went down to San Antonio.
We got to visit the Alamo

It had a lot of cracks.

just kidding.
It was really interesting. Once again I had heard some of the story, but going there and having a history buff as a husband made it all come to life and really filled in the gaps. I am sure my kids will be able to tell me all about it too when they have to take Texas history and recite the Texas pledge everyday in school.

After the Alamo we went down to the river walk and took a boat tour.
Here is the crew waving at the people onshore. We had a really good time. And all of the adults got buff carrying around the children. I am glad we made it. Seriously though Casey and I got to roam around quite a bit after missing the exit. Thank goodness for cell phonesThank you Round Rockians for the fun time! We love ya!

Homecoming

We came home from CA to a sparkling clean house, a happy Dad, some new colors of paint in the hall and in our bathroom, some super fun halloween decorations and... a yummy halloween cake!

Thanks Cod..addy
We love your guts.. and domestic skills

p.s. The whole CA trip was Ezra's first plane ride experience. He did pretty darn good. It was also my first time with both of the boys on a plane. They both had at least one embarassing outburst but luckily they were on different plane trips. Thank goodness for Rowdy's dvd player and a nice stewardess that held Ezra while I ran Rowdy to the bathroom. The most stressful part was probably just trying to get through security by myself. So, overall it was good, but I am not planning on flying alone again anytime soon.

Happy Birthday Papa

My Dad's Birthday was October 9th and he hadn't met Ezra yet, so my Mom helped us fly... well Ezra, Rowdy and I, out to surprise my Dad for his birthday. Nan came and picked us up at LAX and luckily we made it home with all four of her doors. Rowdy opened the car door and almost got it smashed off by a car in the carpool lane. It took all of our brain power to come up with these creative ways to surprise my Dad and then unknowingly he foiled plan A, plan B, and Plan C! So we ended up just walking in his front door on a Tuesday evening. He was still pretty surprised! In the process we also got to introduce Ezra to Pops, Letti, D and their family, Aunt Lindy, Grandma and Grandpa Bowler, Monica and a whole bunch of our California friends. For my Dad's Birthday he wanted to take Rowdy and my Mom to Lego Land! They had so much fun! Then as another Birthday surprise Locke,Katie and Armanie came down for the weekend! So we got to celebrate Dad's birthday with them too. and watching the kids play together was totally priceless. We had such a fun week. Thanks for everybody that went out of their way to help us get out and around and pour love on the boys. Here are some pics (pretty much in backwards order)

Papa and Yaya set up a tent in the back yard and put in the queen size air mattress! They all had so much fun they spent 3 nights out there!

and when that was done Rowdy slept in a little tent in the playroom. Yaya read him lots of stories in here

Ezra is 2 months old!

Ezra is 2 months old already! He weighs 14.2 lbs. and we forgot his height but he is still in the 90th percentile. He is such a sweet baby. He has started to coo and even laugh especially when he sees black and white stripes, or a ceiling fan. His head is still a little wobbly but this past week he has gotten a lot more control over it, so we can hold him facing out now. Also this past week he got to go to California and surprise his grandpas who hadn't met him yet. and see a bunch more of our loved ones in California. Here are some sweet pictures his Aunt Letti took of him this weekend
Here are the kids who ditched school today...

Black Cloud

We had an awesome storm on Thursday if I could even call it that. One huge, ginormous, black cloud ripped open on top of Justin and dumped about 2 inches in 5 minutes and then moved on to yellower pastures. It came, dumped, and left us a rainbow before you could even recite the Texas pledge of allegiance. (yes they really have one and the kids recite it in school.) We love the storms here in Texas.

Friday Night Lights Out

After an awesome dinner of homemade chili with homemade birthday cake (cornbread), thank you Lynda for not wanting to cook. Rowdy and I climbed up into the attic and pulled down some of our camping paraphanelia and decided to sleep out in the backyard with Mom and Ezra. Rowdy loved it, He put his beanie on and ran around the tent like a chicken with his head cut off. We were a little apprehensive with Ezra but he did the best of all four of us. Hopefully this tradition sticks because it was fun, Celeste even cracked my back for me in the morning.
