We are thankful for our Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was awesome!
It was a Camp Hinckley year, up in Running Springs, with Cody's family. The weather was fabulous and wintery, as in rainy and the food and company were fantastic.
Rowdy discovered Dry erase boards and black olives all in one trip
Everyone say, "Turkeys!"

Cousin bath in the cafeteria kitchen sink
My mom and Dad came up the Mt. for Thanksgiving dinner and then headed out that night to go hike the Grand Canyon! It is awesome to have both sets of grandparents just around the bend from each other.
Nan taught the little boys how to ride a horse broom

It was amazing to see how close the wild fires had gotten to Camp Hinckley. We are so glad they preserved the lodgeRowdy is already learning to use a razor.
and don't worry everyone his Dad remembered and trashed the stash!
Thanks everyone for your hard work! We had an amazing time.

Diggin' for gold

While in Sacramento we went up to Coloma, where gold was first discovered in CA. Here is Cody diggin' in front of the Sutter's mill replica on the American River. We stuck our feet in the river to see if we would stub our toe on anything shiny and gold.On the way up to Coloma we did a little Johnny Cash history detour and stopped by Folsom Prison. I was already a little nervous being there and while we were in the little museum the full on prison sirens went off and the old tour guide got a shocked look on his face and said, "ohh noo! " (I was already flipping out) "its twelve noon!" he was cracking up at the rise he got out of me. Anyway heres to Johnny Cash

And here are some more Gold Rush pics

Cody didn't get his fill at Folsom. He loved this old broken down prison in Coloma. And an interesting family history side note, one of my great great great grandpas was a gold miner up here in Nor Cal and he and his partner found a vein of gold and then his partner murdered him. Sad, huh. For any non-Bowlers This is Aunt Debbie, Cody's Dad's Sister, who lives near Sac town

Church vs State jk

We took a road trip up to Sacramento a couple of weeks ago. We had a nice time checkin' stuff out. The architechture of the capital building is stunning, but... You just don't get the goosebumps like being here.OR should I say Turkey bumps? There were like 20 enormous wild turkeys running around enjoying that nice mormon soil outside the Sacramento temple on a sweet acre or two picnic area.
Here are some more pics.
Notice how many shots I have of me running after Rowdy.

Thanks Aunt Deb for the nice time!

The Best Part of Waking Up

Rowdy and I eat cereal together whenever I'm home and awake in the morning. We're a perfect team. I eat the cereal and he drinks the milk

His 1st Allergy

Halloween

I don't have my camera or a lot of time to post, but I couldn't resist stealing these shots of Rowdy from Letti's blog. I crack up every time I see them. Rowdy had a good Haloween, and so did we

Fun Fall Weekend

We took another trip inland this weekend. Partly to visit and partly for a baby shower. We decided to go up to Oak Glen for the afternoon too, with Nan.
P.S. don't go there on a Saturday during apple season unless you enjoy waiting an hour in line for a caramel apple

We had a lot of fun at the petting zoo. Rowdy went hog wild actually
Here is a picture of Nan and me (after all of the caramel goodies)
Cody also got tricked into participating in a Hog calling contest. Its a good thing we don't depend on his pig farming check every month.

I tried to tell Rowdy he could look like this if he keeps asking for "more" all the time
Rowdy tried to get a drink with the goat.
We had a nice time. Katie and Armanie were also down for Heather's baby shower, I went with my Mom. Also a nice time. On Sunday Nan came out to our house to speak to the youth for the bishop's fireside. She is such a fun speaker. I really enjoyed it and I am sure the youth did too. Except when she made Cody and I sing our own rendition of "The wise man built his house upon the rock." I am pretty sure the youth didn't like that part.

I really like this video

R is for Rowdy

Disneylandia

We had an awesome time at California Adventure on Monday. It is so much more mellow than Disneyland. Here are a few of the people we ran into. Rowdy really liked the queen of hearts and was in love until...
he saw Sully. Rowdy didn't want to share Sully with anyone else and wasn't scared at all. He even stuck his hand in Sully's mouth. Rowdy thought that this was the best part of his day, until...
keep going,
he found this hole in the fence. We were waiting for the Pixar parade and this hole was right next to the balloon ride on the parade route. I'll give a dollar to anyone that finds this hole and has the picture to prove it.

Pleeeease Vote "Yes" on Prop 8

I think the clip speaks for itself, but we just wanted to plead with our friends and family in and out of California to speak to others about this issue and make sure they understand all of the implications. I think a lot of people and indifferent and of the mindset, that, "sure why not legalize marriage for any couple" But the long range effects are not thouroughly being thought through. Children cannot be properly raised in a genderless society, and no society has survived, with an anything goes attitude.

Please! if you have friends who are California voters please kindly discuss Prop 8 with them. Everyone does have someone in their life who is homosexual, and we love them, but continuing to legalize same sex marriage is not the answer for our society. Please help us preserve the California we love. Spread the word! Vote YES on prop 8.

Nor Cal Shout Out

This past weekend we were able to hitch a ride up to Locke, Katie and Armanie's in Palo Alto. We has such a good time. It was so fun to get to know Armanie again. She is so much fun, and she does the best lizard impression. It was cool to see my brother as a doting Daddy. And Locke and Katie are like the coolest couple. They always have fun little hobbies and adventures that they share. It was also fun to see Yaya And Papa with both their grandbabies. They were all grins all weekend. Previous to the trip they had gone on a little photo shoot shopping spree for Rowdy and Armanie (which included the skunk and bunny costumes).
It was conference weekend. So we watched conference then we went Geo-caching. Where you have the handheld GPS and you basically go treasure hunting. It was a delightful afternoon. What a fun hobby instead of watching T.V.
Locke and Katie also are great cooks. Katie made us these amazing whole wheat pancakes. She basically made the wheat flour herself that morning. They were awesome. And she taught us how to make Gnocchi, the potato pasta dumpling things, and so good sauce. I was absolutely stoked about that because those are one of Cody's favorites from Argentina! (even though they are Italian)
Saturday night my parents gave us a night out and watched Armanie and Rowdy. Katie and I dragged Locke to get pedicures. It was fabulous. Then we went to a noodle house to eat. We had a lot of fun.
My Dad had fallen in love with this place called The Dish, on the Stanford campus, during a previous visit. It is a three mile workout path winding up and down hills and around a couple immense satellite dishes. The views were amazing.
Especially this view
Anyway thanks to the fam for the lovely weekend, and a big thank you to Cody for letting Rowdy and I skip out on him this weekend. We love you guys.

A few new logos

I just finished these logos for a lady from Arizona who has two companies.I like the way they came out
Polka Dots and Paper is a stationary company,
She makes all kinds of invitations, cards, and announcements
She couldn't decide on the pink or blue, so I made them both for her

Jack and LuLu photography
