While in Sacramento we went up to Coloma, where gold was first discovered in CA. Here is Cody diggin' in front of the Sutter's mill replica on the American River. We stuck our feet in the river to see if we would stub our toe on anything shiny and gold.On the way up to Coloma we did a little Johnny Cash history detour and stopped by Folsom Prison. I was already a little nervous being there and while we were in the little museum the full on prison sirens went off and the old tour guide got a shocked look on his face and said, "ohh noo! " (I was already flipping out) "its twelve noon!" he was cracking up at the rise he got out of me. Anyway heres to Johnny Cash
Cody didn't get his fill at Folsom. He loved this old broken down prison in Coloma. And an interesting family history side note, one of my great great great grandpas was a gold miner up here in Nor Cal and he and his partner found a vein of gold and then his partner murdered him. Sad, huh. For any non-Bowlers This is Aunt Debbie, Cody's Dad's Sister, who lives near Sac town

I really planned on seeing a video clip of Rowdy "diggin' for gold" and a little surprised at how disappointed I am.
I like seeing all your adventures, it makes me want to throw the boys in the car, skip school and head up north to visit cousins and aunts.
I love visiting all of the history up near Sacramento. I love Sutter Street too.
Looks like Rowdy and Cody had fun digging for gold!
And, Celeste I'm sorry to hear about your Great Great Great Grandpa. That is sad!
:)See you soon!
That looks like it was so much fun. I think a little road trip like that would be a blast. It's great that Rowdy was able to have such a great time.
